pgbouncer: A practical implementation of a multi-server database farm- behind the firewall
This talk will present the architecture of a real pgbouncer Use Case scenario, in which pgbouncer is used as a 'Traffic Director', on the DMZ.
After negotiating login, specific applications and users are directed to various internal resources - behind the firewall.
In this Case Study, an architecture is developed for a client which has a single world-facing IP address, yet would like to segregate data systems and resources by 'department'. Though typically used for its pooling features, pgbouncer can be used to build this model.
