This talk will outline some of the challenges to overcome when installing PostgreSQL in a Windows enterprise environment. Examples include mass-deployment, Active Directory integration for authentication and authorization, data exchange with existing systems. Both deploying the Windows version of the PostgreSQL server and integrating a Linux/Unix PostgreSQL in the existing infrastructures will be covered.
Magnus Hagander is a developer and a committer in the PostgreSQL Global Development Group.
He is one of the primary developers behind the Windows port, and continues to maintain this port. He also does work on pgAdmin and on the postgresql.org website and infrastructure. He's been a PostgreSQL user since version 6.3.
During paid daytime, he works as a systems and network administrator for the city government in Sollentuna outside Stockholm in Sweden, where he also develops smaller applications for internal use.
